Although it does not possess the critical part of the OVR-2B, the C3 command units, it makes up for that with increased firepower and heat sinks. The result is a stunningly deadly 'Mech whose lethality is unmatched once it gets withing firing range. This design has only been seen fielded twice - it is suspected, and hoped, that both times it was the same 'Mech. Each time, the design was brutally effective, able to tear apart any units that came within 360 meters. Despite the lack of the C3 system, on a one-on-one battle, it is suspected that the Overseer IIC could take down any Inner Sphere or Clan 'Mech. CAPABILITIES The Overseer IIC is faithful to the design of the OVR-2B, retaining the same general armament, but using pulse lasers instead of normal lasers. There are five medium pulse lasers mounted on each arm, in a clustered format. Only one of the arms has a lower arm actuator - the right arm. Neither one has a hand actuator. These are minor sacrifices from the Inner Sphere design, which was designed with full arms. In addition, a medium pulse laser rests on the top of the head, and two small pulse lasers are mounted in the left and right torsos. Thanks to lighter, more compact Clan technology, the Overseer IIC can fire all of its weapons without a heat spike, as well as have a lighter endo steel internal structure. It's scary to think, but a single successful volley from the Overseer's weapons could blow right through all of an AS7-D's center torso armor and internal structure, and nearly destroy the rear shielding as well. The Overseer IIC is also well-armored, almost as much as the Atlas, making it difficult to destroy. Thankfully, this behemoth has some weaknesses. At longer ranges, it cannot successfully hit anything, although the fact that it has a high speed for its weight class does help it somewhat. In addition, it is not the C3 network hub that the OVR-2B is. Although this does not help or hurt the 'Mech in individual combat, it allows a company commanded by the OVR- 2B to work faster and more effeciently, giving the OVR-2B a definite advantage in larger-scale combat encounters. By skirting the edges of the Overseer IIC's firing arc, a C3 unit can get close enough to allow units armed with LRMs and other longer-range weapons at greater distances to place fire more accurately on the Overseer IIC, and eventually take the massive 'Mech down. DEPLOYMENT Only Clan Wolf is known to possess this 'Mech, and in extremely limited numbers. Recently, rumors have begun circulating that Clan Jade Falcon has begun to test this 'Mech, but these are merely rumors at the time of this writing.
