Primary Factory: Terra Communications System: Elisist/Warlord C3 Network Targeting and Tracking System: Warlord Killer Crosshair System OVERVIEW The Overseer is the first of a series of 'Mechs Elisist plans on releasing that can work as a complete company, using the C3 network to its fullest possible extent. The Overseer is designed to operate as the head 'Mech of the company, fitted with C3 command units to tie into the rest of the command lance and to tie in with the head 'Mechs of the fire lance and recon lance. This networking allows the twelve 'Mechs all to be tied into the C3 network, expanding the usefulness of the new C3 technology to its fullest. Even without the C3 network, however, the Overseer is a capable and powerful machine. CAPABILITIES The Overseer's weapons load initially seems very light, something more suited to a light or medium 'Mech than an assault 'Mech. Five medium lasers encircle both arms around the hands. A medium laser also rests in the head, and in the left and right torsos. Two small pulse lasers round out the Overseer's arsenal in the center torso. However, when fired together, the Overseer's firepower is respectable. The downside is that the weaponry can generate more heat than the 'Mech can handle, causing a slight spike. However, it is a relatively small spike, and can be handled. The other crippling point of the Overseer is the fact that its weapons can only hit at a maximum of 180 meters. The general strategy for this problem is to use the C3 network for closer units, keeping the Overseer at maximum range and firing using a closer targeting system. if another 'Mech comes close enough to the Overseer, however, it can quickly decimate its opponent's armor, which tends to make the idea of close-range combat with the Overseer less than a pleasant thought. The real point of the Overseer, however, is to provide a housing for the C3 command computers, and in this it succeeds with flying colors. These two computers are located in the left and right torsos. Generally, the computer on the left is designed to tie in with the rest of the command lance, and the one on the right ties in with the commanders of the other lances, although this can be easily changed. DEPLOYMENT So far, the Overseer has seen the greatest deployment in the Draconis Combine. Aside from the Black Hawk-KU, all of the Kurita OmniMechs feature at least one configuation with C3 computers, making the Overseer an excellent component in Kurita's military. Sales to the other houses are expected to pick up when Elisist introduces the other 'Mechs that are designed to tie into the network with the Overseer. VARIANTS One variant on the Overseer is available - the OVR-2C. This design removes the hands of the OVR-2B, moves two of the medium lasers from the arms into the legs, and adds two more double heat sinks. As this version can deal with the heat of its weapons far better than the normal OVR-2B, it has become somewhat more popular since its release.
